From Mother’s Day to Medical Device

Mother’s Day was created by Anna Jarvis in 1908 and became an official U.S. holiday in 1914.  After Anna Jarvis’s mother passed away, she implemented this holiday to acknowledge the sacrifices mothers made for their children. She started a massive campaign to persuade prominent politicians and council members to acknowledge Mother’s Day as a national holiday. Her efforts paid off, but soon became appalled with the commercialization of Mother’s Day. The true meaning of this day is lost among consumer spending and profits generated from this day.

Even though Mother’s Day history is not so cheery, AML-Global acknowledges the significance of this day. May 8 is the perfect opportunity to honor and show appreciation for the women who raised and guided us. This is also a day to celebrate women in general and all the good things they do. Today we celebrate Mother’s Day by sending greeting cards, flowers, chocolates, fancy dinners, gifts, and doing something special for them.

An important industry that has a profound impact especially for women around the world as well as men is the medical device industry.  AML-Global is an ISO 13485 certified company that specializes in medical device and pharmaceuticals industries. We have completed an extensive amount of work within these important industries.  The U.S. Medical Device industry is the largest in the world and its market size is expected to grow up to $133 billion by year 2016.  We have many clients from the Medical Device industry who seek our professional translation services such as Karl Storz, Allergan Inc., Covidien, Boston Scientific Corp., and Edwards Lifesciences to name some.

Karl Storz is an international and prominent manufacturer and distributor of endoscopes, medical instruments and medical devices. They are located worldwide and have subsidiaries in different countries. A few days ago they requested a Quality Process Implementation document to be translated from German to English. We delivered the project on a timely and efficient manner, and our client was happy with the finished work.

AML-Global has also worked with Allergan Inc. when we regularly do translation projects for them. We recently completed a multi-language translation job involving 17 languages: Spanish, Portuguese, Traditional & Simplified Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Russian along with several other languages including French, Italian, Thai, German, Dutch, Polish, Turkish, Vietnamese, and Arabic. Allergan Inc. is an international pharmaceutical company and its headquarters are located in Dublin, and was recently purchased by Actavis.
