World No Tobacco Day (WNTD)

Every year on this day the World Health Organization (WHO) warns about the health risks associated with tobacco consumption. The trade of tobacco products not only brings health problems, but also brings about legal, economic and corruption difficulties. This is a global concern because at least 6 million people are nearly killed per year, and of which more than 600,000 non-smokers are affected by second hand smoke. WHO strengthens its strategies by using graphic warning on cigarette packets, and increasing tobacco tax to dissuade people from smoking.

We at AML-Global applaud the efforts of the World Health Organization (WHO) to bring awareness and understanding of this global problem. We hope that the consumption of tobacco products will continue to decline as more people become educated and abstain from tobacco.

AML-Global works with many prominent medical and health companies on a daily basis. We have provided translation services to Development and Training Services, Inc. (dTS). dTS is an international development company that focuses on social and economic development, and aims to promote equality, accountability and sustainability. Their services focus on providing assistance across various areas such as agriculture, human and legal rights, education, trade, media, and elections to name some. A few days ago, they requested a translation from French to English of an evaluation document. It was around 13,000 words and about 44 pages long. Even though it was a sizable project, we delivered the project on time to our client who was very happy with the result.

National Geographic Channel is an influential non-profit scientific and educational organization that aims to inspire and educate people on many topics from medical, health, to history and culture. It tries to reach everyone through its media platforms, products and events.  It was founded on January 1, 1997 and its headquarters are located in Washington D.C.  We are proud to work with National Geographic and have done a lot of work with them. A few weeks ago they requested a translation of an annual contract from Russian to English. We did a great job for them, and they were very happy with the outcome.

AML-Global has also worked with the World Bank. It is a global financial institution that was established in 1944.  Its headquarters are located in Washington D.C. and it has more than 120 offices worldwide. Its main focus is to provide loans and financial assistance to developing countries. They implement a range of tools and policies to help address world development problems from health care, vaccinations, water distribution, agriculture and many others. Recently, they requested a translation of a complicated financial document from English into Portuguese. We completed this for them before the deadline and they were happy with the results.
