The New Year is approaching, and with it a time of reflection on what we have accomplished in the last year and set new goals for the year to come both personally & professionally. December is an important and active month, a lot is happening in the business world.  For instance, Mark Zuckerberg pledging to give away to charity, 99 % of his Facebook shares, Yahoo considering selling its internet business and on and on…..  But in the meanwhile, American language Services is busy in providing quality services to meet the needs of our entire customer base. For the verbal language interpreting which we do a whole lot of,   this is seemingly a simple task, but in reality it is an important and potentially complex task. It requires that the interpreter select the right word and to interpret it instantly and without fail. There is no opportunity to edit; no margin for error. To be effective, the interpreter must have extensive experience with interpreting, in-depth knowledge of the subject area as well as Integrate cultural preferences into their choice of words and phrases with only a split second to think about them. Interpreter’s also must be neutral at all times and not inject their opinion or slant and accurately reflect what is being conveyed.

Here are a few examples of our recent activities we have completed for Interpreting. We recently worked with Buckner International on an interpreting project of on “IT system for Kids”; it was 8 hours a day, 2 days job in Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese & French. We also provided necessary equipment needed for the project like headsets & receivers, and transmitter along with technicians for on-site technical support. Another example was the interpreting service provided by our team to Meeting Management Services on the subject of “Zero to Three”, it was a 3 days assignment in Spanish, Korean & Japanese. Our top priority was to ensure that the conference should run smoothly and accomplish its objectives. To make that possible we provided Sound reduction booths, headset & receivers as well technical support on-site. We also provided pre-event support anticipating any problems that could arise and suggesting changes that may need to be made in order to accommodate the interpretation service.

One more example was the assignment for Communications Workers of America, a 3 days meeting was held on the topic of “Union Disciplinary Hearing”. The interpretation was provided in Spanish, Korean & Russian. Guests were able to converse seamlessly and negotiate without fear of miscommunication, confident in the knowledge that our expert interpreters would accurately convey information without altering meaning or interjecting any added commentary.
