May We Not Forget

In May, we have a federal holiday; Memorial Day. Memorial Day is always on the last Monday of May and this year happens to fall on May 29 meaning this weekend is a long one. The day honors the men and women who have died whilst serving in the U.S. military.  It was originally known as Decoration Day, but became known as Memorial Day after World War II.As the month is slowly coming to an end, we are preparing to start the month of June and all it has to offer. At American Language Services, with summertime beginning, we become increasingly busy with translations, interpretations, transcriptions and multi-media.

Interesting Interpreting & Translation Projects Completed in May

We recently completed an interpreting project for AMCI Global a company who aims to transform the way people interact with automotive brands. AMCI Global has been a customer of ours for many years and we always aim to keep them happy. For a dealer meeting & racetrack event in multiple locations around Las Vegas, over 20 French interpreters were need during a 3 day period. This was a very large job and went flawlessly. In past years, we have provided interpreters in many languages including Spanish, Italian, French, German, Korean, Mandarin, Cantonese and Japanese.

Another interesting interpreting project completed in the end of May was for Conceito Brazil an event management company based in Brazil. The job took place in a hotel in Chicago and was an NRA conference. For the week-long event Brazilian –Portuguese, EU French and Spanish interpreters were needed along with portable headsets and receivers and transmitters. The conference was a huge success.

Throughout May, we have completed numerous translation projects for the State Bar of California a client of ours for over 10 years. We translated documents from Russian into English, English into Russian, and Chinese into English, Korean into English, English into Korean, to name some. These documents are usually needed very quickly and we turned it around perfectly.
